We recently spent an unforgettable vacation in a spacious 6-bedroom, 4-bathroom Florida villa at Highlands Reserve, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like a genuine home away from home.
What impressed us most was that the villa was exactly as advertised. The photographs, description and facilities matched what we found when we arrived – something that's incredibly important when booking a Florida villa rental.
There were no surprises, just a beautiful, comfortable and exceptionally well-equipped villa that gave our family everything we needed.

One of the biggest advantages of choosing Florida villa rentals rather than a hotel is the amount of space you get.
Our Highlands Reserve villa was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and spacious enough for the whole family to relax comfortably.
After busy days exploring Orlando's theme parks, it was wonderful to return to somewhere that felt like our own holiday home.
The private swimming pool quickly became one of our favourite features. We spent plenty of time relaxing around the pool and enjoying the Florida sunshine, while the comfortable beds were very welcome after long days at the parks.
The living room also had a large 42-inch television and an extensive DVD collection, perfect for relaxing evenings when everyone simply wanted to put their feet up.
There was even a computer and printer, which proved surprisingly useful for checking the weather, printing maps and keeping in touch with family back home.
Florida Villas with Private Pools
For us, having a private pool was one of the highlights of the Florida villa rental.
There's something special about being able to step outside your accommodation and enjoy your own pool whenever you want.
Whether you're cooling down after visiting Disney World, enjoying a lazy afternoon away from the parks or simply relaxing in the sunshine, a private pool gives you an extra level of freedom that you don't get with a standard hotel.
Our villa also provided eight large beach towels, which were ideal for the pool and Florida's water parks, along with a cooler for taking drinks and snacks with us.
There were even bikes for younger children and a high-quality stroller – thoughtful extras that made family life during the holiday much easier.

The villa's games room was another huge hit with the family.

Having a dedicated games room meant there was always something to do when we weren't visiting the theme parks or relaxing around the pool.

Every bedroom had its own television and convenient bathroom access.
The bathrooms were equipped with hairdryers, while the master suite even had a hair straightener – another example of the thoughtful touches that made the villa feel like a genuine home rather than simply a holiday rental.
For a large family or group, having several bedrooms and bathrooms makes a huge difference, particularly when everyone is getting ready for an early start at the theme parks.
A Fully Equipped Kitchen
The kitchen was one of the best-equipped kitchens we'd experienced in a holiday rental.
It had everything we needed to prepare meals, snacks and drinks throughout our stay.
There was a wide-slot bagel toaster, ice maker, powerful blender and a full range of modern appliances, all of which were in excellent condition and worked perfectly throughout our holiday.
Having a fully equipped kitchen is another major advantage of Florida vacation rentals.
You can prepare breakfast before heading to Disney, make packed lunches for a day out or simply enjoy dinner at the villa rather than eating in a restaurant every evening.
And after a busy day at the parks, sometimes having the option to stay in is exactly what you need.
Highlands Reserve – A Great Location for a Florida Villa Rental
The location of Highlands Reserve was another reason we loved this Florida villa rental.
The community is beautifully maintained and provides a peaceful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, while still being conveniently located for everything Orlando has to offer.
The golf clubhouse was only around a five-minute walk from our villa, although after a full day exploring the parks we often chose to drive.
We also visited the community swimming pool during our stay, although a lightning storm eventually sent us back to the villa!
Thankfully, the children had already enjoyed plenty of water-based fun at the local parks.
Florida Villa Rentals Near Disney World
For anyone planning a Disney holiday, location is hugely important.
One of the biggest advantages of our Florida villa rental at Highlands Reserve was its convenient access to Walt Disney World and Orlando's other major attractions.
Many of our journeys to the Disney parks took only around 5–7 minutes, depending on traffic and our destination.
We also discovered the useful Sherberth Road route, which helped us avoid some of the heavier traffic when leaving the parks at the end of the day.
Being able to get back to your villa quickly after a long day at Disney makes a real difference – particularly when you're travelling with children.
