During the busy holiday period from 8 – 11:30am the US192 near to Disney exit becomes jammed due to the high volume of traffic going to Disney and numerous traffic lights.

To avoid this, here is a handy tried & tested shortcut to avoid the worst of the traffic and get you to the parks much quicker.

If you are staying along the US27 north of the I4, take Florence Villa Grove road by traffic lights by Lake Davenport Estates.

Follow this road through the bends until you reach Westside Blvd – take a left here

On Westside Blvd take the next right onto Funie Steed Road and follow the road through bends and past Emerald island Resort (right) and under the 429 Toll Road bridge.

At Formosa Gardens Blvd junction go straight across and follow the road

After you pass the big lake on the left – take the second left onto Entry Point Blvd.

At the US192 traffic lights go straight across onto Sherberth Road.

Follow Sherberth Road through all the bends until you reach another set of traffic lights after a right bend – get into the right-hand lane and turn right at the lights - You are now on the Disney complex.

Animal Kingdom is on the next left – Magic Kingdom exit is just a little further along. All other Disney attractions are also clearly signposted from this road. This route can save you 20 - 30 minutes in the car.

The road you are on is the Osceola Parkway which gives you direct access to the I4 for SeaWorld, Universal, Volcano Bay and International Drive.

Further down Osceola Parkway turns into a toll road before reaching the Florida Turnpike, but for a few dollars, it gives you fast and easy access onto Orange Blossom Trail, where if you then go North, it will take you places like Gatorland and Florida Mall & Mall at Millenia.

Also, Osceola Parkway is a quick way to the International Airports – just follow signs off the Osceola Parkway onto SR417 Central Florida Greenway.

When returning after your day out, just drive onto Disney internal roads and follow signs for Animal Kingdom / Animal Kingdom Lodge.

When you approach the Animal Kingdom entrance, keep in the left lane following signs for Animal Kingdom Lodge.

At traffic lights turn left onto Sherberth Road (you will notice a small 192 sign on the right-pointing left before this junction.

Follow winding roads in reverse.
