Windwood Bay offer a range of extremely large villas from 3 to 5 bedrooms and is surrounded by conservation areas, clear lakes, open woodlands and several wonderful nature trails to enjoy around Lake Madison from Windward Bay. Many people stay in Windwood Bay villas for the excellent golf courses in the area. Golfers of all standards will be able to find a good challenge, the best of which is found at Champions Gate, just 2 minutes drive from the entrance of Windwood Bay.

Windwood Cay

Windwood Cay is located less than 1 mile south of the US192 in Kissimmee and is an ideal location to experience all that Orlando has to offer. Windward Cay consists of just over 130 villas, most with conservation woodland or lake views giving it a peaceful and serene feel. The nearest supermarkets to the community only a 5 minute drive away with a 24-hour Walmart and Aldi virtually on your doorstep. Disney theme parks are less than a 20-minute car journey and Universal Studios and SeaWorld can be reached in around 25 minutes. West Orange Trail Bike Track

Move over Mickey, there’s a new tourist attraction in town – well, almost in town. Orlando’s vision of an expansive recreational cycle trail network spanning from Polk City to the west, circumnavigating Orlando as far north as Lake Mary, east to Oviedo and as far south as Kissimmee is on the drawing board. Bike rentals are available at the start of most of the trails. We have cycled West Orange Trail which is currently 22 miles long starting at Killarney Station (where you can hire bikes) just off SR50 at Oakland near Clermont and runs all the way to Apopka on asphalt. The route travels east then north and ideal for all ages. Planned to eventually connect with the Seminole Wekiva Trail to the east and eventually to the Lake Minneola Trail to the west.

Boca Grande Beach

Boca Grande beach is on Gasparilla Island Beach which is a short drive south of Englewood. Access onto the island is via 3 privately owned bridges, including a draw bridge. There are limited facilites on the beaches with Sandspur Beach & Lighthouse Park having the best facilites. There are no lifeguards on any of the beaches. Enjoy the incredible views of Boca Grande Pass & Cayo Costa Island on the other side from the veranda of the lighthouse & check out the museum if it's open.

Bradenton Beach

Bradenton Beach is accessed from most side streets off Gulf Drive & extendss north from Coquina & Cortez beaches, It benefits from shaded parking & extensive views up & down the coastline. Along the beach you will find several excellent casual dining restaurants, ice cream parlours & quaint little shops. Parking is limited, so you need to arrive early on weekends to avoid disappointment.

Caladesi Island Beaches

One of the few completely natural islands along Florida's Gulf Coast, Caladesi's white sand shores have been rated as the nation's #1 best beach. Beach lovers can enjoy swimming, sunbathing & beachcombing. Nature enthusiasts watch wildlife while hiking the 3 mile nature trail through the island's interior or paddling a 3 mile kayak trail through the mangroves & bay. Picnic tables and shelters are located near the beach which can be reserved for a fee. The park also has a snack bar & gift shop. Caladesi Island is accessible only by private boat or via the Caladesi Connection ferry service. Cost for the ferry is $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 4 to 12. Trips depart hourly beginning at 10am.

Many know Clearwater for its beaches, which are among the best in Florida. Clearwater is connected to the barrier island of Clearwater Beach to the west via a 2 mile nicely landscaped causeway which includes a walking & biking path. From here you can experience beaches, beaches and more beaches. A string of barrier islands with fine white sand beaches line the Gulf of Mexico along the Pinellas coast. They start with renowned Clearwater Beach to the north & parade south with Sand Key Park, Indian Rocks Beach, Madeira Beach, St. Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille & Fort de Soto Park. Clearwater Beach has an excellent marina where one can find numerous charter, party and rental boats for fishing, sailing, cruising, para-sailing & dolphin watching. The centre of Clearwater Beach is punctuated by Pier 60 - a long & wide concrete pier jutting out into the Gulf of Mexico that serves as a great fishing platform & strolling avenue. Many enjoy gathering here at sundown to watch the sun go down.

Cocoa Beach

Orlando's closest beach along the famous Space Coast, aptly named as it is one of the closest beaches to watch a Rocket Launch. NASA's JFK Space Centre is only 15 miles North of Cocoa Beach. Cocoa Beach was made famous in the 60's by "I Dream of Jeannie" TV sitcom. Those who cherish the great outdoors will want to visit the Cocoa Beach Pier. You can toss in a line from the pier, or rent a charter from one of the captains waiting to take you to sea. Surfers call the area around the pier the best surf area in Florida. All outdoor activities are available. You can rent jet skis, go para-sailing, swim, snorkel, scuba dive, or just relax & soak up some Florida sunshine.

Daytona Beach

Daytona is one of the USA's most famous beaches with a 23 mile long, 500 foot wide expanse of sand. Floats, umbrellas, windsurfers, bicycles, four-wheelers & motor scooters are available to rent on the beach. It is one of the few beaches anywhere that will allow motor vehicles to be driven on it. Jet skis, sailboards & powerboats can be rented at the Halifax River & the Intracoastal Waterways. The Boardwalk is located along Daytona Beach. This is a group of amusement centres, rides, mini-golf, arcade & snack bars for your entertainment. Daytona is known world wide for its beaches, and the Daytona International Speedway, one of the finest motor-racing facilities of the country. It has overtaken Ft. Lauderdale as "the place to go" for Spring Break. The beach has seen many land speed attempts in the past, including Sir Malcolm Campbell reaching 276mph with Bluebird in 1935. Daytona is home to 'Race Week' and the Daytona 500 in February and 'Bike Week' in March so can get very busy during these periods.

Lido Key Beach

If you are staying on the north end of Sarasota, Lido Beach, located on Lido Key may be for you. Just as expansive & sweeping as Siesta Key Beach, but not as crowded (except on special occasions, like the Grand Prix Races on the 4th of July, when it is packed!) Lido Beach has lifeguards, playground, rest rooms, concessions & a large free parking lot. Located about a half mile west of St. Armand's Circle where you will find excellent shopping, bars, restaurants & even a Starbucks. At the very south end of Lido Key is a natural oasis known as South Lido Key Beach Park. The park is bordered by four bodies of water; The Gulf of Mexico, Big Pass, Sarasota Bay & Brushy Bayou. There are nature trails, a canoe trail, picnic & BBQ facilities, restrooms & a playground. Swimming is limited due to currents and boat activity.

Longboat Key Beach

Longboat Key's 12 miles of breath-taking white sandy beaches are totally unspoilt & the best way to appreciate the beach is to stay in a beach front condo. There are several great restaurants just off the beach. If just visiting, arrive early as parking is limited.

Manasota Key Beaches

The enchanting Manasota Key beaches just off the coast of Englewood between Sarasota & Fort Myers offers 7 miles of 4 expansive pristine white sandy beaches & clear blue waters. There is a fairly sharp drop off making the beaches ideal for swimming, snorkeling, body boarding & finding fossilised sharks teeth in the surf. Shaded areas offer picnic tables, fire pits, boardwalks, restroom & showering facilities. Manasota Beach has ample free parking & year-round on duty lifeguards.

Marco Island Beach

Marco Island, located 30 minutes south of Naples by car, is the southern most island on the south-west coast of Florida & has beaches accessible by car. Marco Island is very developed as a retirement/vacation paradise with all the comforts of any small city. There are numerous excellent hotels & condos available along the beachfront. A visit to Sand Dollar Island at Tigertail Beach is worthwhile, but requires a good long walk. The island is very quiet & fairly remote where the shelling is excellent.

Naples Beaches

Naples beaches boasts over 10 miles of pearlescent sugar white sand that runs from Seagate Drive to the North to Gordon Pass to the south. Choose from the family friendly beaches at Lowdermilk Park & downtown Naples Municipal Beach & Pier. Naples Fishing Pier is at the west end off 12th Avenue South & extends 1,000' into the Gulf of Mexico - Great for fishing or watching sunsets. Enjoy sunbathing, swimming, fishing, jet-skiing, sailing, kayaking & bar hopping. Naples beaches are well known for their seashells & rich shore bird life. so don't forget your shell bag and binoculars. Throw in a shelling and birding field guide while you're at it.

Sanibel Island

Sanibel Island is a unique barrier island along the Gulf Coast in that it has a east-west orientation compared to most islands being north-south. This results in the island having exceptional sandy beaches & an abundance of shells, winning awards for the best shelling beach & one of the best beaches in Florida. The are basic restrooms located at all public beach accesses with some having picnic tables & showers. Parking at Sanibel Island public beaches costs $4.00/hour. Sanibel island beaches have hosted numerous romatic sunset weddings.

Siesta Key Beach

This famous beach boasts the finest, gleaming white sand around. The sand is 99% quartz - aside from being gorgeous, this sand never gets hot, even on the hottest day. Siesta Beach has concessions, restrooms, lifeguards, picnic areas, playgrounds, showers & a large, free parking area. Siesta is known for the Drum Circles on Sunday night & is famous for sunset viewing! Located on Ocean Boulevard; take Midnight Pass Road north from the South Causeway at Stickney Point; or travel across the north causeway & follow signs to the beach!

Venice Beach

The large Venice beach provides free parking, a dining pavilion, concessions, picnic tables, lifeguards & restrooms. There is a reef a quarter mile off shore for scuba divers to explore, while beach dwellers can sift the soft white sand for fosillised black sharks teeth. To make this easier you can purchase what is called a Florida Shovel from a beach equipment store locally which effectively sifts the sand to capture the beautiful glossy black sharks teet. This is a popular beach with limited parking, so arrive early.
